CAT Exam
Common Admission Test popularly known as "CAT" is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India. It offers candidates to study in top-rated business schools of India known as IIMs. Apart from IIMs many management institutes consider this exam for admission and offer scholarships too. CAT is conducted one time a year by one of IIM and interestingly every year the exam is scheduled for the last Sunday of November. Only 5500 seats are available in IIMs which makes the competition level high but securing a seat in the top 3 IIMs things becomes harder.
CMAT Exam
The common Management Admission test also referred to as CMAT is an MBA/PGDM entrance exam. NTA (national test agency) organized the exam every year for admission in all the AICTE-approved management colleges of India. It is the second most in-demand entrance exam in India after the CAT. CMAT is an online exam in which MCQs are asked. Unlike CAT in this exam, a candidate has 180 minutes to solve the paper. The most popular colleges accepting CMAT scores are - GIOM, JBIMS, Great Lakes Institute of Management, SIMSREE, and many more.
MAT Exam
MAT stands for the management aptitude test and is among the most popular MBA entrance exam in India. MAT is the most flexible exam reason being it is conducted 4 times a year, In the month of February, May, September, and December. Also, it is organized in 3 different modes -
- 1. PBT - Paper-Based Test
- 2. CBT - Computer-Based Test
- 3. IBT - Internet Based Test
XAT Exam
XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) Jameshdpur organizes an entrance exam called XAT. Apart from XLRI institute more than 800 management schools also consider this exam for admission to their institute. Some of them are IMT, XIMB, TAPMI, and more. Every year more than 100000 students appear in this exam and try their luck to get admission to the prestigious XLRI institute. Like all the other top management exams this is also conducted in an online manner and tests the aptitude skills of the candidate. XAT is scheduled for January 08, 2023, for admission in 2023-2025 batches.
NMAT Exam
NMAT exam is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). Business Schools like ISB, VIT, XIMB, and NMIMS consider the result of NMAT for the admission process. The full name of NMAT is NMIMS Management Aptitude Test. In 2022 NMAT is scheduled from October 10 to December 19. It is organized in two modes - 1. Online protected test, 2. Online exams at exam centers. For 2022 76 exam centers are reserved in 73 cities. It has a similar syllabus to the CAT, CMAT, and other MBA entrance exams.
IIFT Exam
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade exam known as the IIFT exam conducted for the admission into MBA International Business course offered by all three IIFT campuses. These campuses are located in Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada. On the behalf of the college, NTA organized this exam and took care of everything. The syllabus of the IIFT exam is quite similar to the CMAT exam. In 2023, IIFTY Exam is expected to be conducted in the first week of December.
CUET-PG
CUET-PG or common university admission test is the latest addition to the universe of entrance exams. Earlier it was known as CUCET and at that, it was only for the central universities. In 2022, CUET scores are accepted by all the participating universities for admission in various courses. Some top universities like - BHU, UOH, and Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University offer admission into MBA courses via CUET. CUET exam is conducted on an online mode and features questions from previous academic and aptitude.
SNAP
SNAP exam is for admission into all 16 Symbiosis institutes across India. It is conducted once a year and the mode of examination is online. Symbiosis International University (SIU) is the governing body for SNAP. There are around 2500 seats for management courses in all symbiosis colleges. The duration of this exam is 60 minutes in which candidates need to solve 60 questions. The exam is organized for 3 dates in 2022 - 10 December, 18 December & 23 December.
IBSAT

ATMA Exam
ATMA stands for AIMS Test for Management Studies and is conducted on a national scale. The exam body of this test is the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). ATMA offers admission in MBA, MCA, PGDM & PGDBA in 756 management schools in India. It tests the aptitude-related skills of the candidates and the exam paper consists of 6 sections. ATMA exam frequency is 4-5 times a year. Exam will have 180 questions and each question will carry 1 mark.
MAH CET Exam
MAHCET is also known as Maharastra Common Admission Test. MAHCET is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. It is for admission into various courses offered by colleges in the state of Maharastra. MAHCET-MBA has a syllabus including - Quantitative ability, Logical & Abstract Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and verbal ability. Candidates who clear this exam have to appear in the common admission process known as CAP for seat allocation in colleges.
Karnataka PGCET Exam
Karnataka Examination Authority conducted Karnataka PGCET annually. It offers seats in post-graduation courses offered by various colleges in the state of Karnataka. It's full name is Karnataka Post Graduation Common Entrance Test. It is one of few entrance exam which are condcuted in offline manner. A total of 100 question type of MCQs are appeared in exam with time duration of 150 minutes. Karnataka PGCET application process for 2022-24 batch is expected to kick off from the 2nd week of September.
KMAT Exam
Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) organized an exam for admission in MBA/PGDM/MCA courses known as KMAT. KPPGCA initiate this exam with the purpose to streamline professional education back in 2003. Now, around 175 AICTE-approved management institutes and 60+ MCA colleges accept this exam for admission. KMAT stands for Karnataka Management Admission Test. Candidates can give this exam online mode from their homes. In KMAT, 120 questions are asked with a time limitation of 120 minutes. Interestingly this is one of the few exams which does not have a negative marking scheme.
TANCET Exam
TANCET also referred as Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test. It is conducted with a purpose to allocated the post graduation seats to candidates in various courses offered by colleges in Tamilnadu. In total around 200 colleges accept admission through TANCET exam. It is one of the most popular state level mba entrance exam. TANCET organised in offline manner , consist 100 objective questions with time duration of 2 hours. Qualified candidates are invited for the counsling process conducted by the DTE, Chennai.
TS ICET Exam
Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test opens the door of admission to MBA & MBA Courses offered by various colleges/ universities operating in Telangana. The exam conducting body of TS ICET is Kakatikya University, Warangal. It is conducted once a year for two days. Around 54000, candidates participate in exams for the MBA/MCA courses. The exam features 200 MCQs with a time limitation of 150 minutes. TS ICET is conducted in an online manner with 3 mediums (English, Hindi & Urdu).
